Prepare patients for office visits; perform tasks including weight and height, vital signs, blood glucose check, medication list, and document information in patients' chart. Process incoming and outgoing patient telephone calls and patient-related correspondence; organize and prioritize duties to optimize efficiency and promote positive patient outcomes. Requires knowledge of medical assisting normally associated with obtaining an Associate's Degree in Medical Assistance coupled with National Certification as a Medical Assistant preferred. Minimum of six months of related work experience; ability to gather and interpret data in situations where the information or problems are not overly difficult or complex, multi-task skills, exchange information on factual matters, schedule appointments, assess and record vital signs in patient's chart, explain policies and procedures, and relay patients' need to appropriate personnel is required. This type of interaction requires courtesy and tact when dealing with patients and their families and /or health care system employees - experience in OB/GYN office and Bilingual bi cultural prefered
