Job Summary: Provides leadership in the provision of nursing services, supports the implementation and evaluation of quality nurs! ing care to patients and families, under the direction of the nurse manager and/or director.
Essential Responsibilities:
Coordinates the allocation of resources; acts as a clinical resource for staff; supports the nursing division by participating in performance reviews, initiating and contributing to quality improvement initiatives and standard development. Assess patient and their family issues, level of acuity, staff and physician concerns and take appropriate action. Update nursing staff, delegate duties and ensures follow through to address patient issues. Provides clinical consultation to nursing staff or directs them to other resources. Communicates and interprets changes in nursing practice activities and standards of care.o Competency development Identifies self learning needs and updates clinical knowledge and skills through formal and informal education and review of current literature. Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree required. Bach! elor's degree preferred in Nursing License required: Registere! d Nurse 5-8 years related work experience required. Demonstrated leadership through progressively responsible nursing assignments. American Heart Association - Basic Life Support Certificate Experience with computer systems required, including web based applications and some Microsoft Office applications which may include Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint or Access. Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's in Nursing strongly preferred. Experience in a teaching hospital and specialty area expertise. Competencies: Written Communications: Ability to summarize and communicate in English moderately complex information in varied written formats to internal and external customers. Oral Communications: Ability to comprehend and communicate complex verbal information in English to medical center staff, patients, families and external customers. Knowledge: Ability to demonstrate in-depth knowledge of concepts, practices and policies with the ability to use them in complex varied situatio! ns. Team Work: Ability to act as a team leader for small projects or work groups, creating a collaborative and respectful team environment and improving workflows. Results may impact the operations of one or more departments. Customer Service: Ability to provide a high level of customer service and staff training to meet customer service standards and expectations for the assigned unit(s). Resolves service issues in the assigned unit(s) in a timely and respectful manner. Age based Competencies:
