This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Nurse Leader to join our leadership team to manage our P! ediatric Inpatient & ED and Special Care Nursery units. The Pediatric Unit is a 16-bed Medical/Surgical unit, the Pediatric ED is a 7 bed unit and the Special Care unit is a 10 bed unit with specialty to include a variety of medical diagnosis. The multi specialty, patient centered model will focus on integrated expertise and operational excellence. The Nurse Manager promotes competent, compassionate nursing care for patients / families. In collaboration with the Physicians and the nursing staff, the Nurse Manager influences outcomes and ensures the BEST quality patient care.

Applicants for this position should be energetic leaders who are able to motivate others, is skilled at managing conflict, and initiating and maintaining collaborative relationships with peers, staff, administration and the interdisciplinary health care team. This role is a leadership role encompassing patient care, teaching, and consultation. The successful candidate for this position will dem! onstrate the following attributes:

  • Creativity and the ability to pursue problem resolution opportunities that go beyond 'standard operating procedures'
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues to generate new program ideas, design operational details, and steer the implementation process.

  • Willingness to work closely with other members of the interdisciplinary team to develop standards, promote evidence based practice, and design a mechanism for successful integration of change within a team focused environment

Qualifications

Minimum educational level: Masters degree in Nursing with a focus on obstetrics/neonatology- Certifications: BLS, NRP, PALS-! Minimum experience: 3+ years of clinical practice in Maternal Child Health

  • Preferred experience: 2+ years in an educator/CNS role, and/or 1+ years in a management role.- Familiarity with work in a union environment is helpful
  • Proven track record of project development/implementation
