What You'll Do

The Business Continuity Planner Student is a member of the Enterprise Crisis & Business Continuity (eCBCM) Team focusing on Canadian Tire Corporation, and primarily supporting our Mark’s and FGL banners in Calgary. The eCBCM Team is accountable for managing the Business Continuity Program which includes the development of a sustaining process to continually monitor and enhance integrated continuity programs and plans, including crisis response. This role will contribute to the development and maintenance of the enterprise-wide business continuity management program through the following tasks:

  • Providing administrative support and assistance to Manager, Enterprise Crisis and Business Continuity Management
  • Assisting with post pandemic administration and plan update activities
  • Assisting with design and development of eCBCM internal SharePoint site
  • Daily weather and hazard monitoring and reporting
  • Document Retention and Destruction review

What You Bring

  • Pursuing a post-secondary education in Business, Emergency Management, Threat and Response Planning or a related field.
  • Strong organizational and priority management skills with a result driven focus.
  • Strong MS Office skills (Word, Visio, Excel and PowerPoint): including the ability to process map in Visio and or Word, and design macros in Excel.
  • Experience with report and policy writing
  • Demonstrated interest and/or experience in crisis management, emergency operations and/or retail industry experience are considered assets.
