Job Title: Construction Quantity Surveyor
Job Overview: We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Construction Quantity Surveyor to join our construction team. The successful candidate will be responsible for accurately estimating the costs of construction projects and ensuring that projects are completed within budget and on schedule. The Quantity Surveyor will work closely with project managers, engineers, and contractors to ensure that all aspects of a project are accounted for, from materials and labor costs to project schedules and timelines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare cost estimates and budgets for construction projects, including materials, labor, and equipment costs
- Analyze drawings, specifications, and other project documents to identify potential cost savings and value engineering opportunities
- Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure that construction projects are completed on schedule and within budget
- Perform regular site visits to monitor progress and ensure that construction projects are meeting specifications and quality standards
- Prepare progress reports and update project schedules to ensure that construction projects are progressing as planned
- Participate in project meetings to provide cost estimates and budget updates to project managers and other stakeholders
- Prepare contract documents and negotiate with suppliers and contractors to ensure that the best value is achieved for the project
- Analyze construction contracts to identify potential risks and develop strategies to mitigate those risks
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management or a related field
- 3+ years of experience in construction quantity surveying
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
- Proficiency in relevant software applications such as AutoCAD, Microsoft Excel, and estimating software
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong negotiation and problem-solving skills
