This is an administrative, clerical and secretarial position in support of a school or other designated work site. Due to the nature of the job, confidentiality of information is imperative. Work involves composing and/or preparing correspondence and reports; file maintenance; opening and distributing mail; directing in-person and telephone inquiries from staff, students and the general public; bookkeeping procedures and spreadsheet applications; and other duties as assigned.
Desirable Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of proper office administration procedures, proper communication and telephone etiquette, ability to work harmoniously with others and to organize work load in a fast-paced environment; ability to act with tact and diplomacy when dealing with parents, teachers, students and the public.
Training Required and Experience:
Graduation from a recognized educational institute with a two year office administration program and at least three years of successful experience in a receptionist/secretarial position; The successful candidate must possess a strong background in Microsoft Office, electronic file management, school accounting and other applicable computer programs.
Salary as per the NAPE Collective Agreement (CG-26: $24.06 - $26.63 / hour)
