In accordance with the Vision, Purpose, and Values, and strategic direction of the Vancouver Island Health Authority, patient safety is a priority and a responsibility shared by everyone at VIHA; as such, the requirement to continuously improve quality and safety is inherent in all aspects of this position.
Reporting to the Manager or designate, this position is responsible for end user computing needs assessments, coordinating the acquisition, disposal and installation of end user computers, software and peripherals. The incumbent makes recommendations to customers regarding equipment selection, communicates corporate standards, technical issues and or limitations and assists departments with the decision-making process. Completes purchase orders, work orders and other acquisition and delivery related documents and ensures internal budget approvals are in place prior to ordering equipment or services. Reviews purchase orders and receipt of goods from vendors to ensure contractual commitments and operational standards have been met and that inventories are updated.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education, Training And Experience
Grade 12, graduation from a recognized two year computer systems diploma program, plus three (3) years' recent, related experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. Valid Class 5 vehicle license.
