Central Massachusetts Anesthesia Affiliates (CMAA) is a private anesthesia group currently recruiting for the position of staff CRNA at the Memorial Campus of UMass Memorial Medical Center in Worcester, MA.
This is a 40 hour weekday, 3rd shift position which offers the flexibility of working either 5-8hr shifts or 4-10hr shifts. There is opportunity to increase the $160,000 base rate salary with optional call and overtime shifts. 80-90% of the time will be spent in obstetrics; 10-20% of the time will be spent covering urgent and emergent surgery in the OR.
The ideal candidate would enjoy the teaching atmosphere of an academic medical center in a private practice environment. We are willing to train the right candidate in regional anesthesia. The OB practice is busy, varied and provides opportunity to be educated in the craft of OB anesthesia as well as expand upon one’s current experiences. Approximately 75% of patients receive labor analgesia. The C-section rate is approximately 25%. The limited OR practice would encompass urgent and emergent cases potentially involving all surgical services with the exception of cardiac, transplants, and trauma.
Relocation expenses, education expenses or a sign on bonus are negotiable. Additional benefits include paid malpractice, CME time and up to $1600/year CME reimbursement.
CMAA is responsible for providing all anesthesia services at the Memorial campus of UMass Memorial Medical Center, the clinical division associated with the University of Massachusetts Medical School. The Memorial campus is a 331 bed tertiary care facility providing a complete range of health care services to the population of central New England. CMAA anesthesia staff is comprised of 17 anesthesiologists and 25 nurse anesthetists who work together to provide anesthesia for approximately 6,500 major surgical procedures and 6,000 ambulatory surgical procedures per year. In addition, the Memorial campus is the regional referral center for high-risk obstetrics and neonatal care in central Massachusetts, and involved in over 4.500 deliveries per year. The facility has 19 operating rooms and 3 delivery rooms in the East Wing that opened in 1996. Surgical services include all of the major surgical subspecialties except cardiac, transplants and trauma.
The salary is competitive and the benefit package is generous. The anesthesia care team approach is utilized in the department in a private practice environment.
