The facility is a medium security adult female state correctional institution that also houses an awaiting trial maximum security unit.

The ideal candidate will understand the importance of specialized medical services for female patients and have a strong desire to be an advocate for women’s unique healthcare needs! .

This position provides health care delivery to the ! female inmate populations and is responsible for supervising and overseeing clinical services and staff. Other duties include accurate assessment of clinical conditions both acute and chronic by means of detailed histories, physical exam, and interpretation of laboratory data, diagnosis and appropriate treatment planning.

Additionally, the position will conduct chronic care clinics, establish treatment plans for patients requiring ongoing medical and/or pharmaceutical therapy, as well as conduct infirmary rounds and participate in sick call. You will coordinate with collaborating physicians regarding medical issues of their caseload and managing referrals to other members of the multidisciplinary team of professionals.

Job Requirements

• Board Certified (preferred) or Board Eligible in Internal Medicine, Family Practice, Emergency Medicine or Ob/Gyn with additional experience or subspecialty in Ob/Gyn or primary care
• Active unrestricted Massachusetts Physician license and applicable Federal DEA an Massachusetts Controlled Substance License
• Prior correctional health experience highly desired
• Ability and willingness to successfully pass a background investigation
