1-2 years experience is required
According to established procedures and techniques, sets up operating rooms with required anesthesia and physiological monitoring equipment in preparation for anesthesia in surgical, obstetric and diagnostic suites. Removes and cleans equipment at the end of procedures, and re-stocks anesthesia supplies for subsequences use. Performs the responsibilities for the Anesthesia Stat Lab (ASL) according to JCAHO guidelines and as described in the Policy and Procedure Manual. Ability to read, write, and comprehend electronic monitoring equipment and a basic knowledge of physical sciences at a level generally acquired through a high school education. Requires three to six months of on-the-job training. Must be able to acquire and effectively utilize knowledge of anesthesia equipment, physiological monitoring equipment and ASL equipment. Based on this understanding, he/she must ! be able to detect equipment malfunction and erroneous results ! and alert the Anesthesia Technician as well as clinicians of such conditions. Must have appropriate interpersonal skills to work well with people of diverse educational background within the potentially stressful operating room environment. Must demonstrate a pro-active customer service orientation. An equivalent combination of education and experience which provides proficiency in the areas of responsibility listed above may be substituted for the above education and experience requirements.
