Job Details:
Under general supervision, this position is responsible for continuous, efficient and smooth patient flow in the clinic setting. Identifies and provides necessary clinical preparation according to protocols, patient interactions, and review of patient charts. Responds quickly to requests for assistance during and after patient exam from physicians or clinicians.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Greet and triage patients; performs vitals signs
Escorts patients to exam rooms and oversees clinic flow
Communicates to patients and providers on delays
Monitors clinic room flow: ensures that Attending and Nursing staff are informed on patient status
Assures laboratory results are current and in the patient chart or medical record: retrieves char! ts and other results as necessary prior to visits.
Ch! aperones patients into the exam rooms and ensures the provider has assistance during exam
Required to use computer order entry system to secure laboratory test results, when necessary
Stocks and prepares rooms, before, during and after clinic
Assures medical supply inventory is adequate and up to date; requests supplies as needed
Ensures that equipment and instruments are readily available before and during clinic; includes cleaning of instruments or securing retrieval from CPD
Assists Attendings and Nursing staff with minor procedures as needed/directed
Triages clinic phone calls as needed
Assists with chart preparation and departmental filing as needed
May encounter and check out patients
REQUIREMENTS:
Proficient in MS Office and clinical and medical electronic record systems
One or more years of medical experience.
Knowledge or ability obtained through the comple! tion of a Medical Assistant Training Program.
Superior interpersonal, organizational and customer service skills.
