Job Description

The Admissions Coordinator performs all components in the admissions process for new patients and transients. This position would support the company's vision and mission through providing excellent customer service throughout the intake/admission's process.




ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.


  • Receive all admission calls, emails and faxes from referral sources for assigned markets
  • Obtain all required patient, insurance and clinical documentation and forward to appropriate person.
  • Schedule patients and place in desired U.S. Renal Care facilities.
  • Ensure all communication has taken place including with Discharge Planner, clinic staff, physician, insurance verifiers, FSA and patient while following all company admission policies and procedures.
  • Obtain all State, Federal and clinical documentation required for admission. Assure all admissions documentation and other pertinent information is scanned and indexed into PEARL.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of all State and Federal requirements for dialysis admissions.
  • Complete any and all duties specific to your market or requested by the physician.
  • Adhere to policies and procedures regulations regarding HIPAA and Electronic Patient Health Information (EPHI).
  • Assist as needed to perform other related duties and special projects as required.


QUALIFICATIONS:


  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 6 months experience in patient registration in a hospital or medical setting preferred
  • Demonstrated knowledge of medical terminology
  • Knowledge of various health insurance programs
  • Intermediate to Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Word, Excel, Outlook, and general working knowledge of Internet for business use.
  • Ability to work in a fast-past, deadline driven environment.


Vaccine Requirement

Employees of US Renal Care must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19. Proof of COVID-19 vaccination is a condition of employment. Individuals with medical or sincerely held religious beliefs, practices or observances that prevent them from receiving the COVID-19 vaccine may request an exemption to the COVID-19 vaccination requirement. This requirement does not apply to positions that are 100% remote and have no direct interaction with patients or staff.
