Description: Massachusetts Institute of Technology is currently seeking to employ Chief of Nursing right now, this position will be placed in Massachusetts. CHIEF OF NURSING, MIT Medical, to provide leadership, strategic direction, and management to a nursing service that serves the 25,000 students, employees, retirees! , and others affiliated with MIT, Lincoln Laboratory, Whitehead Institute, and Draper Laboratory, and their families. Will ensure that the nursing staff work successfully within collaborative practice teams; deliver high-quality, patient-centered care; and continually find ways to increase productivity and efficiencies. Will also serve as an effective advocate for nursing within the department and publicly represent its nursing function to all internal and external audiences. Will have eight direct reports--nurse coordinators--who work on campus and at the Lexington facility in the areas of urgent care, pediatrics, internal medicine, community care, obstetrics/gynecology, mental health, occupational health, and infection control. Will oversee a $7M operating budget and a staff of sixty, eighteen of whom are nurse practitioners.
REQUIREMENTS: a strong track record of progressive responsibility in healthcare administration, at least ten years of nursing experi! ence including five years of experience as a manager, and a ma! ster's degree in nursing or related field. Must be credentialed as a nurse/nurse practitioner in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Experience in a physician group practice or ambulatory care setting highly desirable. MIT-00009694
