THE ROLE
The Bookkeeper is responsible for maintaining the day-to-day finance operations of the company, a privately held provider of data solutions and training for medium to large entities. This is a 100% virtual position working from home and reporting to the controller. While operating in a remote environment, you will be part of a highly collaborative group of professionals, focused on providing our customers outstanding products and customer support. The client uses a hosted version of QuickBooks Enterprise, Salesforce, BambooHR, and Expensify.
SCHEDULE: 8 AM - 5 PM Pacific Daylight Time (11 PM - 8 AM Philippine Local Time), follows Philippine holidays
POSITION TYPE: Full Time

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
· Handle general ledger and month-end close
· Prepare commission reports and accruals
· Reconcile prepaid expenses
· Reconcile fixed assets and record depreciation expense
· Reconcile general ledger to external sales tracking datafile
· Coordinate marketing reimbursement claims and track payments for general ledger purposes
· Handle accounts receivable and collections
· Generate customer invoices and enter them into QuickBooks
· Respond to account receivable-related communications, including billing questions and collection of past-due amounts
· Handle accounts payable
· Enter vendor bills into QuickBooks
· Recommend vendor payments for weekly check run and submit for approval (Bills to Pay report)
· Prepare and process ACH vendor payments
· Process employee expense reimbursements after approval of Expensify reports
· Prepare/issue 1099’s
· Prepare general and tax-related partner distributions
· Provide support for cash flow projections
· Process semi-monthly payrolls
· Prepare commission reports for review by account managers
· Submit commission amounts for approval and processing in BambooHR/Traxx Payroll
· Input changes (base rate, commissions, bonus plans, etc.) into Bamboo and QuickBooks
· Submit simple IRA reports for processing
· Calculate commissions payable for cash flow report and month-end accruals
· Process state and local taxes
· Prepare, file, and pay state tax returns
· Prepare state/federal tax deposits in coordination with the outsourced controller
QUALIFICATIONS
· An associate in accounting degree
· Minimum two years of prior experience in a similar role
· QuickBooks experience is required
· Excel proficient intermediate level
· Prior experience dealing with vendor financing/leasing arrangements
· Strong customer service skills
· Must be dependable, open, caring, and a team player
· Strong written and verbal communications skills
· Ability to troubleshoot and proactively provide solutions to problems through improved processes or procedures
· Detail oriented, with strong organizational skills and the ability to meet internal and external deadlines
· Demonstrated ability to work both independently and as part of a team
· Analytical skills with particular attention to detail
· Aptitude in data management, analytics, reporting preparation
