The South African College of Applied Psychology (SACAP) is the leading independent provider of education in psychology, counselling and coaching, offering accredited undergraduate and postgraduate qualifications.


SACAP is looking for a Receptionist based at Pretoria Campus.


The Receptionist is responsible for portraying a professional image either by phone or in person with students, clients, suppliers, staff, educators and all other stakeholders. This position is critical to the college and the fulfilment of the duties and responsibilities contribute to its overall success. The role reports directly to the Operations Co-ordinator and works closely with all other campus staff. In addition to this, the role embodies the vision, mission and purpose of the college.

Responsibilities:
1. Managing front desk effectively:
  • Assist all students before and after classes
  • Start up and setup of signage of classes before each time slot
  • Managing educators and expectations before and after class
2. Telephone and Switchboard:
  • Manage the switchboard in an efficient, effective, courteous and prompt manner
  • Distribute messages promptly (i.e. Email messages to staff)
  • Screen and direct all calls to relevant staff members
  • Ensure that lists of all staff contacts details are kept up to date (i.e. Extension lists, contact details, educator details, birthday list of all staff and educators)
  • Capture all prospective student enquiry details onto CRM system
  • Direct all prospective student enquiries to the relevant staff in the recruitment department
  • Ensure that the portable telephone is always managed & charged

3. Administration:
  • Ensure Housekeeper receives all communication and notices related to the Campus
  • Maintain Office Supplies (ie. Stationery, Refreshments, Vending Machines)
  • Handle all incoming and outgoing mail
  • Ensure mail is regularly taken and picked up from the post office by Factotum
  • All mail to be distributed to the appropriate members of staff
  • Provide typing and other administrative support as delegated by the campus director

Qualifications and Experience:
  • Matric Certificate
  • Computer Literacy (MS Office)
  • Minimum of 3 years reception experience

The role will report to the Operations Co-ordinator at Pretoria Campus.


Operating Hours:

This is a full-time position operating from Mondays to Fridays with the following hours*:

Mondays to Thursdays: 08:00am to 16:30pm
Fridays: 08:00am to 16:00pm
  • Due to the nature of this role, there will be a need to work flexible hours to the extent to which it is reasonably necessary to perform the duties of this position.
